Here's hoping.
Instead of buying gifts for every important person in my life, I'll donate to a charity.
Maybe under that person's name.
I don't know, I haven't really thought it all out yet.
I just know that when I donate gifts to children, or even money to the Salvation Army, it leaves me feeling.. complete. Happier than I was before I donated.
Because I know it's going to help somebody know needs it.
And I know how it feels to need that help.
Let's face it. My life hasn't exactly been easy.
I didn't have a life like the majority of Portland does.
My parents didn't buy me a car when I turned 16 or got my license. Or when I turned 17. Or 18.
And I'm willing to bet that I won't have one when I turn 19.
And I don't have a fancy phone or an iPod touch or a Coach purse or a closet full of expensive clothes I may or may not wear.
Does that bother me? No.
But it bothers me when others are just handed gifts like that when the rest of us have to work hard for it.
So, why give to people who already have enough? Why not give to those who have little to nothing?
Why not make someone's Christmas amazing?
It's just a thought.
